Southeast DHIA, Inc. is the state DHIA organization for Florida and Georgia dairymen. This not-for-profit corporation makes computer processing of records available through a membership with the Dairy Records Processing Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. The primary purpose of this cooperative is to offer the individual dairyman an economical method of obtaining information he can use to improve the production efficiency of his herd. Florida DHIA contracts for milk component analysis with an approved DHIA laboratory in McDonough, GA. The state organization conducts educational activities for dairymen and DHIA Technicians. Florida DHIA employs an Operations Manager, State DHIA Field Representative, one part-time Office Manager, and twelve full time Technicians. Florida DHIA also works in conjunction with the University and the Extension Dairymen, who provides an overall leadership and coordination of the DHIA program.
