RESEARCH SPECIALIZATION (60% ASSIGNMENT)
- Using plant neutraceuticals and chemical and biological additives to manipulate digestion and improve the quality and shelf life of feeds and animal products and enhance the level and efficiency of animal production and welfare.
- Using alternative forages and supplements to improve the sustainability of animal production.

- After finishing her Ph.D. with me, Susan Chikagwa-Malunga received the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research CGIAR African Women in Agricultural Research and Development Award Fellowship for 2008-2010 for her potential as a leading scientist.
- Jamie Foster, my Ph.D. student received the Robert F. Barnes Graduate Student Award for presenting the best oral paper at a competition at the Joint International Annual meeting of the American Society of Agronomy, Crops Science Society of America, and the Soils Science Society of America (2006).
