Description
Fish meal has an excellent amino acid profile, close to that believed required for growth and milk production. Variability in degradability of the fish meal in the rumen has been reported and is associated with differences in processing conditions. The time the row fish is stored before processing, whether or not formaldehyde is added as preservative, the use or not of drier, the duration of heat and the extent to which fish solubles are added are factors affecting the degradability of FM in the rumen.
