Artificial Insemination

When it first became popular in the 1930's, AI represented the the cutting edge of technology.  Now, it is a routine procedure on most dairies in the United States and elsewhere.  While routine, AI is still a high-tech affair and attention to detail is required to optimize the results obtained.  poor semen storage, inappropriate handling of semen following removal from the tank, and poor insemination technique are all prescriptions for low fertility. The websites on this page provide useful information for ensuring that AI is done correctly so that fertility can be maximized.
