This page will outline specific changes
to the IVP protocol.
IVP Home Page
01-21-08. Changes some details regarding
suppliers of medium
(Biowhittaker is now Lanza and Specialty Media is now Millipore).
7-24-07. Added a protocol for use of
sexed semen and for
zona pellucida removal.
7-20-07. Added a new,
detailed protocol in Spanish prepared by Luis Davila.
2-17-06. An abbreviated protocol
in Spanish prepared by Adriana Fernandez has now been added. Also, the list of suppliers has been updated.
1-13-06. The old
dps.ufl.edu server has been taken down.
Some old links in the website to www.dps.ufl.edu
are no longer functional. We are trying
to identify these. If you come to a
blind link, please replace dps with animal in the address and the page will
open.
5-19-05. We have
changed the description of Stock 1 to reflect the
fact we purchase lactate syrup as a 98% syrup.
5-19-05. We have identified a typo in the description
of the PHE solution.
The epinephrine stock is actually 250 mM
and not 250 mM. The formulation is
correct as always written. We have also
clarified the description of the procedure to make PHE.
2-10-05. The procedure for diluting sperm has been
changed to correct an error in the concentration of sperm prepared after
purification by Percoll (see day 0).
9-1-04. New
recipes for culture media prepared by Caisson Labs have been added –
much cheaper than other supplies and of high quality!
1-21-04.
The procedure for processing oocytes after slashing has undergone a
major change involving use of a cell strainer to simplify the procedure (-see day -1). The old procedure has
been retained on a separate page.
7-9-02.
We are in the process of editing the entire protocol for typos and changes to
the procedure that have been made since the protocol was originally placed
online in April, 2000. As each page is
changed, it is being given a new look to distinguish it from the older pages.
5-1-01.We are making available
hard copies of our embryo poster. Drop us a
line by email with your shipping address and we will send you at no charge an
8.5" x 11" color poster illustrating all of the developmental
endpoints observed during IVP of bovine embryos. If you would like a more
elaborate poster, we will be happy to make special arrangements to do so.
4-2-01. Photographs of
bovine embryos produced by IVP was added (see Embryo
Gallery).
2-20-01. Link to new protocol
for counting cell number in embryos was added (see Other
Embryo Protocols).
