Vital Information
The Interdisciplinary Reproductive Biology Group (IRB Group) was founded at the University of Florida in 1969 by a group of scientists from diverse backgrounds to study those physiological and endocrinological systems that impact reproductive biology. This critical mass of scientists has grown to encompass one of the largest and most comprehensive groups in Reproductive Biology at a major university contributing to a significant impact on animal agriculture, veterinary medicine, and human medicine.
The Reproductive Biology Group has members spread across 20 departments representing the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Medicine, College of
Pharmacy, College of Arts and Sciences and the USDA. Representation of species and topic areas of research is very diverse, contributing to a rich intellectual environment. The diversity of strategies studied for achieving various biological endpoints, whether within a cell or within a species, provides our participating faculty, post-doctoral associates and students new insights into the strategies of the very system we, as individuals, are studying.
The IRB Group is not organized administratively but is very interactive,
collaborating across a wide range of experiments. Contact Dr. Alan Ealy,
regarding information on the group's seminar held every Wednesday.
