JUDGING INTERIOR EGG QUALITY BY CANDLING
Contest setup

In an actual contest: Ø
Contestants individually candle and grade a class of white shelled
eggs. Ø
Each egg must be handled. Ø
Any contestant that shakes an egg 'violently' in order to facilitate
internal content movement may be disqualified. Ø
The eggs to be candled are placed in a flat next to a candler. That candler must be used for examining
the eggs. Contestants may NOT move
the eggs to another candler. Ø
The number is written on the large end of each egg.
In the computer program: Ø
The eggs are graded based on the photo (to show air cell size) and
the five second video showing candling of the egg (to detect any blood
spots). |
