JUDGING PAST EGG PRODUCTION

PERSISTENCY

The hens of a past production class are judged on the factors of persistency, intensity and health & vigor.

Dictionary definition of persistency: persistent determination; the quality or state of being persistent; staying or continuing quality

The persistency factors are pigment loss and molt.  These factors tell you which hen has the longest period of continuous production and are the best indicators of the number of eggs each hen as laid.
